THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

Tour begins at 1:00 p.m. in the lobby of our London hotel.

We take a moment to review our itinerary before traveling by charter bus to

Westminster Abbey

One could say Westminster Abbey is Britain, bearing witness as it does to more than a thousand years of British history,

be it sacred, secular or royal. We begin our time with a guided tour focusing on its architecture and secular history and

end with the experience of the sacred, Westminster’s incomparable Evensong

We return our hotel for a chance to relax and get better acquainted over drinks and a chat

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

St Paul’s Cathedral’s

We visit to Christopher Wrenn’s extraordinary 17th masterpiece

with a tour of its neoclassical architectural grandeur followed by a midday Eucharist service

Next we depart for the approximately 2 hour drive to Canterbury,

arriving in time for a quick check in at our hotel and before walking to the Cathedral for Evensong

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

We start with Morning Eucharist in the Cathedral before spending the day touring

what are known as Canterbury’s Three Holy Places:

St. Martin’s Church, St. Augustine’s Abbey & The Cathedral

In the evening, we gather for our first group dinner.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

We attend Sunday service at the Cathedral before departing for Cambridge

arriving in time for another quick check in at our hotel before a short walk to attend

Pembroke College Chapel

Evensong

The college is renowned for its music as well as for the exquisite,

intimate architecture of its chapel; another masterpiece by Christopher Wrenn.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

 We begin the day with a morning walking tour of Cambridge with

some of the most beguiling collegiate architecture in the world

The afternoon is open for self-guided exploration--

but be ready to meet up with the group in time for evensong at

Kings College Chapel

Celebrated as one of the most glorious sacred structures in the world

with an Evensong service that is equally renowned.

We end our day with a group dinner,

another chance to enjoy the special fellowship that comes ‘breaking bread’ together

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Today is we take a short  1 hour trip north to visit

Peterborough Cathedral  

one of the England’s great 12th century buildings known for its distinctive

Norman architecture including its magnificent tripled arched front.

Our visit includes the ‘Tower Tour’ for those interested in experiencing the ‘behind scenes’ architecture' of this 800 year old gem

We return to Cambridge in time for some very special fun

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

This morning, we depart for Dublin

via a flight from Heathrow arriving in time for a leisurely

‘Intro to Dublin’ guided stroll before taking a break after our busy day of travel

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

We begin with Matins at  St Patrick’s before touring the Cathedral and its environs.  Our Dublin visit

continues with a visit to Trinity College and a viewing of the Book of Kells,

the extraordinary illuminated manuscript believed to have been created in 800 C.E.

After a break for lunch we depart for

Glendalough

the site of a medieval monastic community which is

regularly listed as one of Ireland's most sacred spaces

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

This morning we travel north to

Newgrange

Older than Stonehenge or the Pyramids, this UNESCO World Heritage site is the largest extant passage tomb

in the world and bears evocative witness to the spiritual life of the Early Celts.

OPEN AFTERNOON

We return to Dublin for a bit of self-guided wander before meeting for Evensong at St Patrick’s

and proceeding to a Ecumenical Dinner

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

We fly back to London arriving by midday and in time for some ‘free-range’ time in this ever-enchanting world capital

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

Sunday morning we gather at St. Martins in the Fields for Sunday Eucharist.
