Lunch :: Duckfat

Can’t improve on their own description: Duckfat is a small sandwich shop that has it all: classic Belgian fries made with local Maine potatoes Fried in duck fat, panini, soups, salads, charcuterie, sodas and milkshakes all made in house.

Culinary Walking Tour

We walk off lunch with a 2 hour plus tour of the food scene in Portland--and what a food scene it is!  Bon Appetit’s “America's Foodiest Small Town”; a New York Times ‘food destination’ and one of USA Today’s "Six small cities with big food scenes," we taste our way through central Portland best provisioners

Oyster Tutorial :: Eventide Oysters

 Here we’ll have our half shells along with an education in all things oyster-y…and even for those of you who do not count oysters as reason enough to keep on living if all else fails there are plenty of other items on this fabulous menu from lobster rolls to clam chowder all with that certain Eventide twist

Dinner :: Central Provisions

This is it the newest and already perhaps the brightest star in Portland’s culinary scene—and, lucky us, it’s a small plates place.  Pick a few luscious favorites to sample, share and linger over before we amble back to the lovely Harbor Hotel

Friday September 9th

Our Day on the Road

This is our day to hit the road and see firsthand some of the dairies, farms and

breweries that supply Portland with its amazing bounty

We start with a visit to Sunflower Farm Creamery where we will not only tour

their award-winning facility but we get to roll up our sleeves for our own class

in cheese making. We then head to the coast for lunch on the rocks

at The Lobster Shack. Next we tour Jordan's Farm, a 5th generation family farm committed to sustainability in all things.

To round things off we head to Allagash Brewery for a tour--and a tasting of course!

Dinner :: Fore Street

Still extraordinary after all these years; Fore Street has shown up on

the best farm to table restaurants for two decades now.

If any one restaurant can be said to be the source of all that

has lead to Portland’s current food scene it is most definitely

this wonderful restaurant

Saturday September 10th

We begin our morning out on Casco Bay with a

Working Lobster Boat Run

Then it’s back in time to visit the Portland Farmers Market where

we select ingredients to be used in our afternoon cooking class at

The Black Tie Cooking School

Open evening

Sunday September 11th

Brunch :: Five Fifty Five

We wrap things up with one of the newest stars in Portland’s culinaryheavens—

The excellent Five Fifty Five

Tour Ends at Noon
